Set within a historic residence on Prinsengracht, in Amsterdam’s UNESCO-listed Canal District, The Zetter 717 is our first home beyond London. Behind its discreet front door are 24 individually designed bedrooms, a private garden and warm, intuitive hospitality – all shaped by the character of the building and the city around it.
Bringing The Zetter’s characterful, residential approach to Europe for the first time, each of our 24 bedrooms and suites are entirely individual. From cosy rooms to signature suites, some overlook Prinsengracht, while others face the private garden or quieter corners of the house—each shaped by its own setting and character.
Built in 1810 in the Empire style, with elements dating back to the 17th century, The Zetter 717 has been thoughtfully reimagined by James Thurstan Waterworth – the designer shaping every hotel across The Zetter Collection.
Original character sits alongside reclaimed timber, aged brass, antique mirrors and richly layered textiles, creating interiors that feel collected over time rather than newly designed. The result is unmistakably Amsterdam and unmistakably Zetter: intimate, individual and full of character.

Lined with books and overlooking Prinsengracht, The Library is the hotel’s cosy, guest-only bar—a place to settle beside the fire with a morning coffee, an evening drink or something from the shelves. Warm, intimate and quietly convivial, it is the natural heart of The Zetter 717.
