The Zetter 717 sits directly on the Prinsengracht, in the heart of Amsterdam’s historic canal ring. From here, the Nine Streets, Museum Quarter, galleries, independent shops and brilliant places to eat are all comfortably close – although wandering the canals without an itinerary is often just as rewarding.
Prinsengracht Central Canals, Amsterdam
The Prinsengracht – the Prince’s Canal – was created during Amsterdam’s great 17th-century expansion and is the longest of the city’s three grand canals. Step out of The Zetter 717 and you are immediately within the UNESCO-listed canal ring, with centuries of architecture unfolding in either direction.
Rijksmuseum
Just a short stroll from The Zetter 717, the Rijksmuseum is home to some of the greatest works in Dutch art and history. Wander its grand galleries and come face-to-face with masterpieces by Rembrandt and Vermeer, before making your way back through the Museum Quarter and along Amsterdam’s famous canals.
